37 hours per week - Trowbridge office, covering Bristol and Bath area
12 month Temporary Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2011

Providing information to clients about the NHS Complaints Procedure via one-to-one and remote advocacy support, you will manage a busy caseload and engage with the statutory and voluntary sectors to raise the profile of ICAS.

With experience of networking and organising your own workload, you will have an understanding of the principles of advocacy and equal opportunities as well as experience of working with vulnerable people.

To be successful, you will be highly motivated, IT literate and a good communicator.Access to a car (mileage allowance provided) is desirable as you will be travelling regularly in your locality. The successful applicant will work in the office for two days per week and home/community based for the remainder.

INFORMATION AND MARKETING OFFICER
37 hours - South of England (SE or SW), flexible office location, fixed term contract until March 2011

The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS) enables individuals to make complaints about any aspect of NHS treatment or care and to influence improvements in NHS service delivery.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with a wide range of people and agencies to raise the profile and accessibility of ICAS, particularly to seldom-heard and marginalised groups.

As a key member of the ICAS Outreach team, you will provide comprehensive information and resources to the general public, health professionals and advocacy teams, whilst exploring and developing new marketing opportunities. To be successful, you will be a confident skilled communicator, with ability to co-ordinate the production of information materials, as well as research and report on developments across the Health Sector. Your innovative and systematic approach will be coupled with competent ICT skills. A relevant marketing, publishing or information management background is desirable but not essential to succeed in this role.

While office-based, this role requires travel across the south of England, as required.
